LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Dear Editor,After reading the letter written by Max Hunt in Tuesday's paper, I am very unhappy with what was written.  Neither my friends - nor I - appreciate his comments about Josh not wearing his helmet and questioning whether or not his death could have been preventable. I have to ask Hunt: Is anything guaranteed in life? Had Josh, or the other man he spoke about, been wearing their helmets, can he guarantee that they would still be alive? The obvious answer is no.Nothing in life is guaranteed except for death. I do agree that the subject of whether a rider should be wearing a helmet while on a bike should be addressed. However, I do not feel that the day before the funeral of a 22-year-old man who died while operating a bike is the time or the place for these opinions to be discussed. I have to comment that there are many people grieving Josh's death at the moment who were very upset after reading Hunt's comments questioning whether Josh could be alive today. There is no need to speculate on what should have, could have or would have happened in this case. Josh was a great guy and will be terribly missed.
