TO THE EDITOR: Diners’ quarters worth more

The point here isn’t that it is an inconvenience, but it is the fact that Ball State University is charging 25 cents for something so ridiculous. If they really need money for the paper cups, I’m sure they can get it from the overly priced items in the food lines ...

Should we get charged based on how many napkins we take next? How about the styrofoam plates? That may already be built in the cost, but is it really necessary to pay for the cup? I highly doubt it!

This is a very sad day for Ball State University. Kegs were always such an important aspect of the overall social experience when I was attending Ball State in the late ‘80s. Kegs parties appear in the real world quite often (weddings, professional events and work related events), so it’s a shame future Ball State students will not get keg party experience prior to attending parties with their boss, a client, future in-laws, etc.

I like the moral high ground the liquor stores are taking. They don’t want students to have large parties because it is detrimental to the community. However, they don’t mind selling 40s of Old English to crack addicts and the homeless, or selling porno magazines and rolling papers. Everyone needs to bind together and make all beer purchases from local grocery stores. The only way to hit these people back is to hit them in the wallet.

I will NEVER buy anything from Friendly Package again.

It is so very sad to see a place like Ball State, which used to be so very fun and special, get torn apart like this. As one of my buddies said: We are basically a more boring Indiana State University now.

It’s very disingenuous, and just an outright callous notion by conservative mouthpieces to suggest that Cindy Sheehan is a radical, leftwing hatemonger ...

If you lost your son under such circumstances, I think maybe you’d have a lot of pent-up anger trying to rear its head inside you, too. Calling the sanctimonous commander-in-chief a few embarrassing names wouldn’t be beyond the pale if you wanted to see some accountability from elected leaders as desperately as Miss Sheehan does.

These are moral issues, folks ...

The bottom line is this: Cindy Sheehan has more heart and more guts and is more sincere than guys like Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and all the rightwing smear mongers could ever hope to be.
