Rose Lehe is starting out her junior year off well, taking the first two events of the season. After winning the Butler Open to start the season, Lehe took the Indiana Intercolligates on Friday to lead Ball State to a third-place finish.
The Cardinals ended with a team score of 75, 12 behind Purdue and well behind host and winner Indiana. The Cardinals finished above Indiana State, IPFW, IUPUI, Butler and Evansville in the Big School division.
Freshman Vanessa Gilbert continued her successful first season, placing eighth overall, over half a minute behind Lehe.
Amanda Ponsot, Helen Kirby and Nicole Hartford rounded out the placers for the Cardinals, finishing 13th, 18th and 37th respectively.
The non-placers for the Cardinals were Allison Grissom, Katie Koehler, Lindsay Moldstad and Sara Martin.
The season continues on Friday when the Card head up to Kalamazoo for the George Dales Invitational.
