Ball State University men's golfer C.D. Hockersmith was defeated by teen sensation Michelle Wie on Thursday in match play at the 80th U.S. Golf Association's National Public Links Championship.
Wie won the first five holes, putting Hockersmith in a hole he was unable to overcome. Hockersmith bogied the 13th, solidifying Wie's 6-and-5 victory.
