'Batman Begins' opens in theaters

'American Psycho' Christian Bale stars as the Caped Crusader

The opening of the new theater coinsides with the opening of one of the summer's biggest and most anticipated movie releases: "Batman Begins."

The new installment of the beloved comic book series is a displacment from the other four movies staring the Dark Knight.

This movie follows Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) as he witnesses the murder of his parents, and becomes overcome with the idea of revenge. Throughout the movie Wayne travels the world in search of the means to fight injustice and to strike fear into the hearts of criminals.

In a franchise that has grossed over 700 million in the U.S. alone, with each sequel subsequently making less money than the release before it, questions may be asked why Warner Brothers is revisiting a series that seems to have died.

This new installment directed by Chirstopher Nolan (Memento) and staring such big names as Bale (American Pscycho), Liam Neeson (Kinsey, Love Acctually), Katie Holmes (Phone Booth, Go) and Gary Oldman (The Fifth Element) "Batman Begins" may be alble to bring Batman back to life.

Many critics are raving about the movie, which could be an indication of how well the movie could do. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times and the critic duo Ebert and Roper says, "This is at last the Batman movie I've been waiting for. "

Many other critics are calling the best batman movie, and the only one that has gotten it right.

This new take on the batman series takes a darker look into the story and is finnally what the comic book is ment to be.
