A Ball State alumnus is returning to Muncie as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Cardinals.
Natasha Lothery moves into the job after Justin Cecil left this spring for a similar position in Florida.
Lothery has had experience at the position. She spent two years as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Ball State where she worked with the golf, tennis, and gymnastics programs.
The Indianapolis native transferred to Ball State in 2000 after spending two years at Kentucky State University. In her two years at Ball State, she would receive two letters in track and field. Her biggest accomplishment was winning two individual Mid-American Conference titles in 2002 in the indoor and outdoor 800-meter runs. She was also part of the 2002 MAC champion indoor distance medley team. She was selected to the academic All-MAC team in 2002.
Lothery graduated from Ball State in 2002 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and she earned a master of science in clinical biomechanics this past December.
After graduating, she worked as an Indiana Osteoporosis Prevention Consultant for the Indiana State Department of Health in Indianapolis. She also was a personal trainer at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport.
