WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD Seray Relays next stop for women's track

Less than a week after having the best meet of its young season, the Ball State women's track team will be competing again. The team will take part in the Searay Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. The relays come only days after BSU won the Miami Invitational.

Ball State got a host of great finishes including wins from sophomores Amanda Barnhart (long jump), Rose Lehe (3,000-meter steeplechase) and Amanda Ponsot (800 meters), as well as freshmen Yvonne Ferguson (200-meter dash) and Christina Whitt (400-meter dash) and the 4x100 relay team.

Barnhart, in particular, went the extra step and scored a personal best distance of 20-4 1/2, as well as qualifying for the NCAA regional. She also broke the meet record which had been set by former team member Patricia Soman.

Finishing third for the Cards was junior Jill Scully in the 1,500-meter run and sophomore Amanda Brewer in the 400-meter hurdle race. Altogether, the Cardinals had 28 Top-10 finishes for the event.
