BASEBALL Rainouts keep Cardinals off diamond

Tuesday's game at conference rival Miami -- which was scheduled to make up for an early-season rainout -- was also rained out. It will not be rescheduled.

Ball State (20-10) does play Dayton at home today at 3:30 p.m. The Flyers also had a Tuesday home game -- against IPFW -- rained out. Dayton (20-11) recently swept Temple at home in an Atlantic10 series. William Benoit and Bobby Getty and lead the Flyers in hitting at .412 and .409, respectively.

According to coach Greg Beals, junior Luke Behning will get the starting pitching nod for Ball State, but he plans to use about six pitchers in all. In 10 appearances (four starts), Behning is 2-1, with a 5.46 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 28 innings.

Ball State also plays host to Central Michigan this weekend for a Mid-American Conference series.
