WOMEN'S GOLF BSU starts season with last-place finish

The Ball State women's golf team had a disappointing open to its season. The Cardinals finished in last place at the 12-team South Florida Invitational held at the Waterlefe Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.

The team competed Monday and Tuesday, finishing with a score of 1,006 in the three rounds. Ball State's top finisher was junior Katie Sundberg who placed 50th with her score of 249 (83-79-87).

Also competing for the Cardinals were junior Carmen Bodine who tied for 54th with a score of 252, sophomore Amber Uphaus with her score of 255, which tied for 56th and sophomore Chelsie Flannery with her score of 256, which tied for 57th.

Sophomore Holly Jones competed as an individual and finished 65th with a total of 268 (85-88-95).

The team returns to action March 21 when it travels to the Butler Spring Invitational.
