WOMEN'S SWIMMING BSU defeats Akron, Buffalo at home

The Ball State women's team had a strong weekend at home,winning dual matches over Akron and Buffalo in convincingfashion.

The Cardinals won 10 events in downing Akron, 185.5-114.5, onFriday. Senior Karla Bailey led the way by winning 50-yardfreestyle in 24.54 and 100 free in 54.14. She also swam on thewinning 400-yard medley (3:57.9) and 200 free (1:38.07) relayteams. Addison DelRio took the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.46 and alsoswam on the 400 medley relay.

Other individual winners against the Zips included CourtneyAshton (1,000 free in 10:46.46), Brittany Snyder (100 backstroke in59.24), Mary Brinkoetter (200 back, 2:09.29), Tara Zimmer (200breast in 2:26.94) and Michelle Braden (200 individual medley in2:11.56).

Bailey and sophomore Brittany Sayler were triple-winners in theBSU's 193-107 victory on Saturday.

Bailey again won the 50 free (24.48) and 100 free (54.21) andtook part in the winning 200 medley relay. Sayler took the 100backstroke (59.62) and 200 back (2:08.03) and swam a leg of the 400free relay.

Other winners against the Bulls were Michelle Huang in the 200free (1:57.35), Jenna Arnold in the 200 butterfly (2:09), ErinJohnson in the 100 fly (58.22) and Cassandra Pavlovich in 3-meterdiving.
