FOOTBALL: Keys named MAC Defensive Player of Week

Free safety Erik Keys, a third-year sophomore, was named Mid-American Conference West Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 21-17 victory over Central Florida.

Keys recorded a team-high 10 tackles, including a first quarter sack which forced a Steven Moffett fumble. Ball State scored its first touchdown one play after the turnover. The 10 tackles also matched a career high.

On the season, Keys has 73 tackles, second on the team behind Justin Beriault. Keys has started every game this season and played in all 22 games of his career.
