WOMEN'S GOLF: Team places 13th

Harder places 24th and Sundberg 40th at Pat Bradley Classic

The first part of the Katherine Mowat tenure as head coach ofthe Ball State women's golf coach ended on Sunday, when theCardinals finished 13th at the 27th Annual FloridaInternational/Pat Bradley Classic. The event, held in Miami, waswon by Princeton, who shot a 907.

Ball State, shooting better during the last two rounds than thefirst, managed to put together a 976, which put them ahead ofFlorida Atlantic, Stetson, and Dayton Beach Community College inthe 16-team event. BSU finished six strokes behind EasternKentucky.

Leading the way for the Cardinals in terms of individual playwas junior Julie Harder (85-75-76-236), who finished in a tie for24th. Junior Katie Sundberg shot a 82-81-80-243 for 40th. SophomoreAmber Uphaus and junior Carmen Bodine both put up a 250 and tiedfor 62nd, while sophomore Chelsea Flannery rounded out scores witha 256/72nd place performance.

The fall portion of the 2004-05 schedule is over, and it's justa few months before the spring part, which features the MACchampionships, begins. The experience of the fall is hoped to becarried over, as the Cards have only one senior on the team.
