MEN'S GOLF: Ball State finishes fall season at Xavier

The 2004 fall season for the men's golf team will finish up thisweek as Ball State travels to Cincinnati to compete in the XavierInvitational. The meet comes a week after sophomore C.D.Hockersmith won the 2004 Earl Yestingsmeier Invite in Muncie,becoming the first BSU player since April, 2003 to win anindividual championship.

Mike Fleck's squad has steadily improved in terms of scoring andplacing as the season has gone on. After finishing 14th atMichigan, Ball State jumped from eighth at Wisconsin to fifth atLouisville. They were third last week at the EarlYestingsmeier.

Also helping out last week were junior Brandon Boomsma(73-72-76-221), who was tied for 20th, junior Patrick Wilkes-Krierand sophomore Wayne Denger, both of whom put up a 222 for a tie at24th. Senior Bud Graessle shot a 224 for a tie at 41st.
