Ball State has received two verbal commitments for its 2005 recruiting class so far. Earlier this week Pat Nelson, a 6-9 center from Rockford (Ill.) Jefferson High School and Maurice Acker, a 5-8 point guard from Hillcrest (Ill.) High School, committed to the Cardinals in late August. Head coach Tim Buckley is not allowed to comment on recruits until they sign letters of intent. The early signing period is in November.
Current Ball State players from Illinois include Charles Bass, Terrance Chapman, Tom Howland, Matt McCollom, Terrance Newell and Dennis Trammell.
