Kernan, Gividen to stop by Ball State

Two gubenatorial candidates will make appearances at Ball StateUniversity today.

The Libertarian candidate for governor of Indiana, Kenn Gividen,will a campaign stop. The event is sponsored by the Ball StateUniversity Libertarians and is open to the public. It will takeplace at 5 p.m. in Teachers College 101.

BSU Libertarians president, Seth Lemons, said the event is agreat opportunity for Ball State students to experience a viewpointthat is different from those of the Republican and Democraticparties.

"What we're doing is letting people know that there is anotheroption," Lemons said.

Gividen will address issues such as the economy, education, drugpolicy and other topics that are relevant to students, Lemmonssaid.

Gividen's speech is open to the public and will be followed by aroundtable discussion. Refreshments will also be provided free ofcharge.

Governor Joe Kernan will make an announcement at a pressconference about economic development. The press conference will beat 10 a.m. today in the Alumni Center.
