Author to discuss experiences as gay man

A New York Times bestseller list author whose book spent fiveweeks at the top of the list will be speaking at 8 tonight in theL.A. Pittenger Student Center's Cardinal Hall.

Eric Marcus is a former associate producer for ABC's "GoodMorning America" and "CBS Morning News."

Marcus will be speaking about his experiences as an openly gayman in the communications industry and as the author of nine booksabout the gay community.

Marcus' works include publications on the fight for equal rightsfor gays and lesbians, the struggles of coming out in today'ssociety, the debate over genetic ties to homosexuality and livingas a gay couple. His book "Making History" won the 1993 AmericanLibrary Association's award for best gay non-fiction.

Marcus graduated from Vassar College with a bachelor's degree inurban studies, and he earned his master's degree in journalism fromColumbia University.
