WOMEN'S GOLF: Ball State begins season, places 13th

Head coach Katherine Mowat's team opened up its 2004 campaign byfinishing 13th of 17 teams at the Notre Dame Invitational thisweekend.

Ball State finished with a three-day score of 964, 62 behindfirst-place Iowa State. Leading the way for the Cards was sophomoreChelsea Flannery, who shot a 239, which tied her for 35th placeindividually.

Also ranking in the top 50 was junior Katie Sandberg, who tiedfor 45th. Sophomore Amber Uphaus and junior Julie Harder were tiedfor 59th place at 246. Junior Carmen Bodine rounded out the team'seffort with a 248, which tied for 64th.

Ball State he team plays host to the Cardinal Classic thisweekend at the Players Club. After that are meets at EasternKentucky in late September and Florida International inmid-October.
