MEN'S GOLF: Ball State competed in Northern Collegiate, ending in seventh

Ball State's competed in the Northern Collegiate at Wisconsinthis weekend to compete in the Northern Collegiate. After the firstround, the Cardinals stood tied for third place with NorthernIllinois at 293. They then posted a 285 in the second round, but ascore of 309 on Sunday dropped them to seventh. The team finishedat 887, 25 strokes behind winner Wisconsin.

Individually for the Cards, junior Brandon Boomsma continued hisstrong play from the Michigan Intercollegiate, as he shot 217overall and took 14th. Sophomore C.D. Hockersmith and juniorPatrick Wilkes-Krier both came into Sunday with scores placing themin the teens on the leaderboard. Both shot a 222 overall for themeet, to tie for 27th. Senior Bud Graessle (73-75-80-228) finishedbehind them, tied for 44th. Sophomore Wayne Denger (78-76-78-232)finished tied for 54th and rounded out the team score.�

BSU finished 25 strokes behind winner Wisconsin, but just onestroke behind Michigan and three behind Marquette. The threeremaining meets this fall are at Louisville (Sept. 27-28), home(Oct. 4-5) and Xavier (October 11-12).
