MEN'S BASKETBALL: 2004-05 schedule released

Cardinals will take on Indiana in December at Conseco Fieldhouse

Ball State announced its men's basketball schedule for the2004-05 season, including 14 home games and a non-conference slatefeaturing neutral-court battles with Kentucky and Indiana.

The Cardinals' one exhibition game will be against TaylorUniversity, on Nov. 17 in Worthen Arena. They open the season sixdays later by taking on perennial-power Kentucky in Cincinnati.

The pre-conference slate wraps up with back-to-back trips toIndianapolis -- Dec. 22 at Butler and Dec. 28 against the Hoosiersat Conseco Fieldhouse.

The first Mid-American Conference game is at Miami on Dec. 4,but regular league play begins with a Jan. 2 visit from Kent State.One league game, Feb. 12 at Buffalo, will be televised on ESPN2.

Fifth-year coach Tim Buckley returns four starters, includingthe entire backcourt from last season's team, which went 10-8 inthe MAC and finished 14-15 overall with a loss to Miami in the MACQuarterfinals.

Senior guard Dennis Trammell averaged a team-best 13.2 points in2003-04, and fellow senior guard Matt McCollom added 9.6. SophomorePeyton Stovall returns at point guard after putting up 7.2 pointsand 3.8 assists.
