FOOTBALL: Athletic department to host pep rally

As part of continued effort by the athletic department to improve attendance and make Ball State football an "event" the athletic department has planned several activities around the weekends game.

On Friday the athletics department will be hosting a "Friday Fan Fast." The event, described by Director of GameDay Experience Chris Taylor as a "pep rally" will feature free food, activities, and appearances from coaches, players and athletic department staff.

The game will also be televised by Comcast Local in parts of Michigan and Indiana. The game will not be aired in Muncie. It will be the first of three games scheduled to be televised on Comcast.

Finally, John Stone will hold a tailgating concert starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, and will also host a post-game show in downtown Muncie at Center Stage. Anyone with a ticket stub from the game will get into the postgame concert without charge.

"I can tell you this -- we are going to have a lot of fun in Muncie," Stone said in a Ball State Sports press release. "I am looking forward to getting it started before the game for the students, the fans and the alumni."
