BSU band, Cardettes to perform at Colts game Sunday

The Ball State University band, color guard and Cardettes willpreform Sunday for the sold-out Indianapolis Colts season openeragainst the Green Bay Packers.

Joseph Scagnoli, director of bands, said the entertainmentdirector called and asked Ball State to perform at the halftimeshow.

"The director of entertainment for the Colts called and said hewas in a tight spot," Scagnoli said. "Then he asked us to come downand preform."

Scagnoli said he thought someone might have dropped out of thehalftime show because the opening game for the Colts is usuallysold out and a big deal.

The Ball State band, color guard and Cardettes preform regularlyat NFL games, Scagnoli said.

"We've preformed for the Colts, Buffalo Bills up in New York,the Cincinnati Bengals and we used to play for the Bears prettyfrequently," Scagnoli said.

The team will leave Ball State and rehearse on the field fromnoon to 1 p.m. before the game.

The game will be broadcast live, and kickoff is at 3:15 p.m.Sunday.
