Finance professor wins teaching award

Ball State's School of Extended Education has named therecipient of the Rawlings Outstanding Distance Education TeachingAward.

Manoj Athavale, assistant professor of finance and insurance,received the award for his work in extended education. Establishedin 2002, the award recognizes a full-time professor who is mostcommitted to teaching extended education courses at distanceeducation sites off-campus.

This award was named after Joseph Rawlings, dean emeritus of theSchool of Extended Education, who worked for almost 20 years todevelop Ball State's distance learning program.
