Ball State University is making the latest economic information about Indiana available to the public by e-mail this year.
Ball State's Bureau of Business Research, which is responsible for collecting the data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, will send the weekly Indiana Business Bulletin electronically on Fridays.
Patrick Barkey, director of economic and policy studies for the Miller College of Business, writes a weekly analysis that is included in the bulletin as well as the Indianapolis Business Journal and other publications around the state.
For those who want to track or have as a reference the most current economic information about the state, the IBB is a valuable resource, Barkey said.
The bureau decided to e-mail the information because it is timelier and less costly; it also encourages instant feedback from subscribers, Barkey said.
The IBB has a current subscription base of 100 organizations including newspapers, magazines and television stations. Subscribers can request data about certain areas in the state by e-mailing the burea at bbr@bsu.edu.
