WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL Cards add transfer from Mississippi

The Ball State women's volleyball team has added a transfer from the University of Mississippi.

Rachel Refenes will join the team after two years at Mississippi where she participated in all of the team's games both her freshman and sophomore seasons.

During her freshman season at Mississippi she led the team in blocks with 124 for an average of 1.28 per game. She also ranked second on the team with 246 kills for an average of 2.54.

She ranked among the Southeastern Conference's best blockers her sophomore season. Her 120 blocks for an average of 1.07 per game ranked ninth in the conference. Refenes also had 301 kills to rank second on the team.

"Rachel is an absolutely terrific addition to our program," head coach Randy Litchfield said in a press release. "She has played high-level SEC volleyball and has shown she can compete against great players."
