MEN'S BASKETBALL IU and BSU to meet next three seasons

A deal between the Ball State University and Indiana University men's basketball teams has been finalized. The teams will play each other during the next three seasons.

The first game will be next season at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Dec. 28, 2004. The second game will be in Worthen Arena in 2005, while the Cardinals will travel to Bloomington, Ind. in 2006 for the third meeting.

The teams have already met 17 times, with the most recent during the 2002-03 season on New Year's Eve. The Cardinals lost the matchup 76-62.

The only other time BSU has played in Conseco Fieldhouse was in 1999 when they beat Purdue 72-52.

"To have Indiana return to Worthen Arena after the New Year's Eve contest in 2002 is exciting," athletics director Bubba Cunningham said in a press release. "Playing at Conseco Fieldhouse gives our players a chance to play in one of the best venues in the country, plus allows our fans a great location for a game."
