BASEBALL Four players named to All-MAC teams

Four members of the Ball State baseball team have been named to All-Mid-American Conference teams.

Senior John Pettibone, junior Marc Franz and sophomore Brad Miller were named to the Academic All-MAC team. In addition, Miller and sophomore Mike Sullivan were named to the All-MAC Second Team.

Miller led the Cardinals with a .366 batting average and 15 home runs. He ranked second on the team in RBI with 58 and scored a total of 49 runs this season. The first baseman is a physical education major with a 3.37 grade point average.

Franz led the team in RBI this season with 64, while holding a .327 batting average. The business major, who holds a 3.38 GPA, also placed second on the team with 50 runs scored and 11 home runs.

Pettibone ranks third all-time for Ball State in saves with 17. He had a 5.09 ERA during his final season and had a record of 2-5. He also totaled 34 strikeouts this past season, which was second among relievers.

Sullivan had a .436 on base percentage, and led the team in runs scored with 54 and walks with 42. The center fielder started all 56 games for the Cardinals and posted a .332 batting average.
