The Career Center is sponsoring Ball State's celebration of National Student Employment Week this week.
According to a news release from the university communications office, the university employs more than 5,500 students.
Supervisors can nominate student employees for Career Center prize drawings, in which students could win items ranging from gift certificates to free books for a semester provided by T.I.S. Bookstore.
Some campus departments will hold luncheons to honor student employees, and some will hand out "We Care" packages provided by University Banquet and Catering.
In the news release, Career Center Associate Director Larry Beck said, "Student employees make essential contributions to campus offices, enabling faculty and staff to concentrate additional time and efforts on serving students. "
"Many departments would be hard-pressed to offer the level of customer service they do to students, parents, faculty and visitors if it weren't for their part-time student employees," according to the news release...2*-¦+â-+_"brief employmentDNEditorial..2...+â-Ä "2AUDT
