WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Endress named Academic All-American

Junior forward Kate Endress became the first women's basketball player in school history to be selected to the Academic All-America Women's Basketball First Team on Thursday. She is also only the 10th Mid-American Conference player to get the honor.

With her 19.2 scoring average, Endress leads the team in scoring and ranks second in the Mid-American Conference. She also ranks fourth in the MAC in 3-point field goal percentage, hitting 42 percent of them and sixth in field goal percentage, hitting 50 percent of her shots.

Endress is one of three current Ball State players with over 1,000 career points. Her total of 1,282 ranks No. 7 on Ball State's all-time scoring list. She has led the team in scoring 25 times and rebounding 13, posting double-doubles nine times during her career.

Endress, an entrepreneurship major, holds a team-leading 3.93 grade point average. Earlier this season she became the first player since the 1985 season to get Academic All-District honors in successive seasons.
