Third Suspect Arrested

Damien Sanders was found at a hotel in Indianapolis

Police have arrested the third suspect for the shooting death of Ball State sophomore Karl Harford.

Damien Sanders, 22, was found in a Days Inn hotel off of 465 in Indianapolis at 4:30 p.m.

Chief Joe Winkle said Sanders was found alone in the hotel room when U.S. marshals arrived.

Sanders was arrested for a murder warrant and armed robbery.

Sanders is the suspected gunman in the death of Harford.

Harford was found dead in the back seat of his car March 7 in an alley behind 1923 E. Hines Road.

Autopsy reports say Harford was shot once in the head.

Brandon Patterson, 18, and a 14-year-old juvenile were arrested March 8, after Patterson turned himself in.

A video tape recording the party Harford and the three suspects had attended the night of the shooting allowed Muncie Police to determine who the third suspect was.

Patterson's statement to the police said Sanders was the one who shot and killed Harford.

Police have been looking for Sanders since and had planned on having Sanders picture appear on the television show America's Most Wanted on Saturday, Winkle said.
