MEN'S VOLLEYBALL Cardinals look to draw fans

Ball State's sport administration club helps promote match

When the men's volleyball team faces Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday at Worthen Arena, head coach Joel Walton expects one of the largest crowds of the season.

As Ball State's closest geographic rival, Walton expects the Mastadons to bring a bus load of fans from Fort Wayne, as they have done in the past.

There may be more Cardinal fans than, usual, however, thanks to Ball State's sport administration club. The club is working with the men's volleyball team to try and break the single game attendance record at Friday's game.

The club is working with Greek's Pizzeria to give 10 pizzas to the student organization that brings the most fans to the game. Walton said he hopes the incentive will bring in enough fans to counter IPFW's crowd.

"We're hoping that's going to help our student attendance and also just people from the general public," Walton said.

Walton said a rowdy crowd is a huge advantage, especially in spacious Worthen Arena, where the noise echoes.

Students attending the game from organizations can check in at Gate 3.
