MEN'S BASKETBALL Trammell named Most Valuable Player

Junior Dennis Trammell was named team MVP at the men'sbasketball team banquet on March 14. Ball State (14-15) lost in thequarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament on March10, falling 72-67 to Miami.

Western Michigan won the tournament, earning an automatic bid tothe NCAA Tournament, but lost Friday in first-round action toVanderbilt.

Trammell averaged a team-high 13.2 points in his first season atBSU after transferring from New Mexico State. The junior alsoaveraged 4.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists, and drained 37 percent ofhis 3-pointers. Trammell started and played in 28 of the Cardinals'29 games, playing a team-high 35.1 minutes per game.
