FOOTBALL Barclay receives postgraduate scholarship

Fifth-year senior offensive lineman of Ball State's 2003 football team, Travis Barclay, has been named the recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

After graduating last May with a 3.99 grade point average as a physics major, Barclay played the 2003 season as a graduate student. He now holds a perfect 4.0 GPA in graduate school.

This past season Barclay received several honors related to his academic excellence. In Sports Illustrated's college football preview he was named one of the five smartest football players in the country. He also received Academic All-America First Team honors for the second straight season.

Barclay started all 12 games as a senior and was part of an offensive line that helped the Cards pass for a school record 2,730 yards.
