Dear Editor,
In response to Mr. Palkki's letter in Thursday's issue of the Daily News, I would like to ask him to open his eyes. Has he, and perhaps others, forgotten about the Daily News' coverage of the Spectrum sponsored minister/speaker whose credibility is questionable at best, trying to substantiate homosexuality through the Bible? I personally feel the Daily News has done a phenomenal job covering both sides of the, dare I mention, homosexual topic. When I read the newspaper, it seems there is at least one article per week commenting on the topic from one side of the issue or another.
Here is where I throw in my two cents. I am a conservative Christian. We as Christians are commanded to "Love (one of the most frequent words in the Bible) each other" as stated in John 15:17. We are not here to condemn, "belittle or demean" anyone (Romans 2:1.) If you think I'm hypocritical in saying this, you're right. I am a sinner, just like everybody else in this world; nobody is perfect. Does that mean I shouldn't try not to sin? Not in the least. Homosexuality, as viewed by Christians, is a sin, just as is lying, lusting, cheating, stealing, premarital sex, etc. Christians are also commanded to "go and make disciples of all nations," (Matthew 28:19) which means to spread the message of Jesus Christ. I am not here to force any of my beliefs on you, seeing as God gave us free will and did not force us not to sin, nor will I do it to you, but I am here to share the Gospel out of Jesus' love and my love for you. Nobody should be separated by God because of sin, because it can be freely taken away if we just ask it of him. That is a decision each of us has to make on our own. Nobody can make it for you.
In closing, I just hope you don't take this as me condemning you but letting you know that Jesus loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.
