WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BSU looks to get back on winning track at Ohio

Endress leads MAC in scoring; Reiter tops rebounding list

After suffering what head coach Tracy Roller called an embarrassment at the hands of Toledo on Saturday, the women's basketball team travels to Athens, Ohio, on Tuesday to face the Ohio Bobcats.

Ohio (6-6) comes into the game looking for its first Mid-American Conference win of the season as the team fell to Marshall this weekend in its MAC opener. Ball State enters the game with a 2-1 MAC record and is 7-7 overall.

While the Cardinals don't hold the best record in the MAC, the team does have two players who are at the top in the MAC leaders. Junior forward Kate Endress leads the MAC in scoring with 20.5 points per game, which also marks a career best for her.

"I think she's in contention for player of the year in our conference," Roller said about Endress. "She's just having that kind of a year."

Senior center Jessica Reiter tops the MAC in rebounding with 10.5 per game, and senior guard Johna Goff comes in at 12th in MAC scoring with 12.3 points per game.

The Bobcats are led by 5-foot-11-inch forward Latreece Bagley with 14.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a game. Bagley has averaged that scoring mark without attempting a single 3-pointer all season long.

"We're going to be challenged there more than any other position," Roller said of Bagley.

Ohio's next-highest-scoring player is Elizabeth Brown, who averages 6.9 points, followed by Candace Bates at 6.7. Ohio scores 63.2 points per game, while Ball State averages 73.1.

Roller addressed the team in practice on Monday about three areas it needed to work on: effort, execution and attitude.

"We just need some consistency," Roller said. "That's what we're looking for against OU."
