The following occurred between the 911 Dispatcher and the resident of 1325 W. North St., where Michael McKinney was shot Saturday morning.
Dispatcher : 911. What your emergency?
Caller: Hurry, someone's pounding, a man's pounding on my backdoor ...
Dispatcher: OK. What's your address?
Caller: 1325 W. North St. He's at the backdoor. He's pounding really hard.
Dispatcher: OK. Do you know who it is?
Caller: No. No.
Dispatcher: OK. What's your phone number?
Caller gives phone number.
Dispatcher: Are you expecting anybody?
Caller: No. No.
Dispatcher: What's your name?
Caller gives name.
Caller: Please hurry.
Dispatcher: OK. We're on the way, ma'am.
Dispatcher: Do you know what he looks like?
Caller: No.
Dispatcher: OK. Do you know if it's a male or not?
Caller: Yes. Yes. He had no hair, white, very white.
Dispatcher: Is he still there?
Caller: Yes. He's been pounding.
Dispatcher: Is he saying anything?
Caller: No. He's just trying to get in. Please.
Dispatcher: We're on the way, ma'am.
Dispatcher: How long has he been there? Hello? She hung up. She hung up on me.
Dispatcher tries to call her back.
Dispatcher: 5056 and canine three if you could stop at 1325 W. North on a burglary in progress.
(inaudible)
Different Dispatcher: ... Female advised there was a subject pounding at the door. It was a white male with no hair. He's still pounding on the back door. Female subject just hung up on us. We've been trying to make contact back.
Different Dispatcher: All units: Unable to make contact with female.
(inaudible)
Different Dispatcher: All units be advised. Ball State is 10-23 also. (10-23 means that officers have arrived on the scene).
The following conversation occurred between a University Police officer and a dispatcher.
UPD Officer: All right. We're 10-23 ... Shots fired.
UPD officer: Subject's shot. I can't get a pulse ... Can't get a pulse ... Can't get pulse.
UPD officer: Radio 1.
Dispatch: Go ahead.
UPD officer: Three shots to the chest. Can't get a pulse.
Dispatch: Is this going to be the subject?
UPD officer: Right. No officers are down.
