LETTER: Emphasis on alcohol spreading across Daily News

Dear Editor,

In response to Jay Kenworthy's article "Strong influence toward drinking needs to stop," I find that I wholeheartedly agree with him. As a journalism student, I have heard grumbling among my fellow students at the alcohol motif that has increasingly become a permanent fixture in the newspaper this semester. I have no problem with the 72 Hours publication, but why is that content bleeding over onto the features page?

My favorite part of the Daily News is the features page, yet it seems to be disappearing right in front of my eyes. Unless we are trying to identify Ball State as a party school, I cannot see the need for the intensity recently focused on alcohol-related topics. As Jay said, where is the information about other events occurring on Ball State? I look to this newspaper for information on events taking place on campus, but I have been unable to do that this year. Please do not lose the articles and photographs that make the < I>Daily News< I> what it is.
