The dark angel

The girls are back in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" joined by new characters and villians

The much anticipated sequel to Charlie's Angels opened number one at the box office over the weekend. The original angels Cameron Diaz as Natalie Cook, Lucy Liu as Alex Munday and Drew Barrymore as Dylan Sanders are joined by a new star-studded cast for "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."

Demi Moore makes her return to Hollywood as Madison Lee, a retired angel who turned to the dark side. Moore's last film was the "Passion of Mind" released in 2000. Moore's character Lee was once the angel who could "do anything" and is the role model for newer angels. Since her angel days, Lee has become the "fallen angel" who has a few surprises to offer in the film.

The character Madison Lee was written specifically with Moore in mind.

Others to join the cast for the sequel include Bernie Mac, John Cleese and Justin Theroux.

Mac plays Jimmy Bosley, the contact person between the angels and their billionaire employer Charlie.

Cleese plays Alex's sophisticated father who has no idea what his daughter does for a living, despite her attempt to explain her unique crime-fighting life. Cleese is better known for co-creating "Monty Python's Flying Circus."

Justin Theroux who starred in "Mulholland Dr.", plays Seamus O'Grady. O'Grady is an important but dark part of Dylan's past. Complete with elaborate tattoos and a Mohawk haircut, Theroux plays the classic, unstoppable villain.
