Cardinal tennis team off to a strong start

The women's tennis team started the 2003 season on a strong note, sweeping IPFW and Dayton for 7-0 victories.

"It was nice to get off to that kind of start," Ball State head coach Kathy Bull said. "For an early season match, we played pretty steady. We controlled the play a majority of the time."

Melissa Roach, Jill Weiman, Leisa Brooks, Susan Kelley and Alyce Zollman each won a pair of singles matches. Brooks/Jenny Batty and Zollman/Kara Sullivan won two doubles matches each. Roach/Wieman and Batty also won matches. The Cardinals dropped just one set in the two matches.
