Men's Basketball team lands 36th best recruiting class

The Ball State men's basketball team has snagged a recruiting class that was ranked as the 36th best class in the nation according to Hoop Scoop magazine.

Peyton Stovall of Lafayette Jeff high school, Julien Mills of North Central high school and Darren Yates of Pike high school have signed letters of intent to attend Ball State, according to an athletics communication press release Wednesday.

Stovall, a 6-1 guard, is a preseason Hoosier Basketball Magazine all-state first team selection who averaged 20.8 points per game last season.

Averaging 14.4 points a game last season, Mills, a 6-3 forward, is the top returning scorer at North Central. Mills shot 61 percent from the field last season.

Yates, a 6-2 guard, averaged 13.3 points a game last season. He is also the top returning scorer for his team, Pike, which is the preseason No. 1 team in the state.

Ball State still has one scholarship available for next season.
