BAGGIN' IT

When it comes to school there's a consensus as to what students should carry their books in...whatever is comfortable. But then there's that thing called style.

Seleccting backpacks

Step 1: Choose Right.

Choosing the right size backpack is the most important stepto safe backpack use.

Step 2: Pack Right.
The maximum weight of the loaded backpack should not exceed15 % of your body weight, so pack only what is needed.

Tip: If the backpack forces the wearer to move forward tocarry, it’s overloaded.

Step 3: Lift Right.
Face the Pack -Bend at the Knees - Use both hands and checkthe weight of the pack. - Lift with the legs - Apply one shoulder strap andthen the other.
Tip: Don’t sling the backpack onto one shoulder.

Step 4: Wear Right.
Use both shoulder straps - snug, but not too tight.
Tip: When the backpack has a waist strap - use it.

Actually, I prefer the over the shoulder satchel, or‘man’s purse’ technique. But if I am carrying a backpack, Idefinately use both of the shoulder straps. That’s a definite must forthe style. One strap is not cool - that’s high school. I have a backpackand I have a laptop case, which is a satchel. I carry it to most of my classeswhich are in one building. If I don’t want to carry my laptop thenI’ll carry my backpack - it’s easier to have two bags.”
