Thursday, senior associate athletics director Dick Falls was named the interim athletic director of Ball State University.
Falls will assume his new position effective July 1.
The director has been a senior associate since 1995 and worked with Ball State for 28 years.
"Dick has provided significant leadership for our athletics program for many years," Blaine Brownell, Ball State president said. "I appreciate his willingness to take on this interim assignment. I know he will keep us moving forward."
The job became open with the retirement of Andrea Seger, effective June 30.
"We anticipate that the current search for a new athletics director will be successfully concluded by the beginning of the fall semester, and possibly sooner," Brownell said.
