Ball State gets past Indiana state

Ball State got off to a slow start Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute against Indiana State, but then switched to a zone defense and cruised to a 68-54 victory.

"Our defensive intensity was good in the second half we got the floor spacing we needed to take advantage," head coach Tim Buckley said.

The Cardinal defense held the Sycamores to the fewest points and shooting percentage of any opponent this season.

The Cardinals went to senior guard Billy Lynch off the bench to bring intensity that coach Buckley said was lacking in the first half.

"Billy brings energy and emotion to the game, something that we have been lacking," assistant coach Angres Thorpe said.

Ball State returns to action on Dec. 29 to face Oklahoma State in Oklahoma City. The Daily News will be there to bring you all the action from the Sooner state.
