Despite signs around campus, like on the Atrium staircase, with a photo of a Chipotle burrito saying, "Soon" and the hashtag #ChipotleComesToBSU, the popular Mexican restaurant has no plans to come to Muncie in the near future.

When the Daily News submitted a general inquiry to Chipotle, a customer service consultant from the company emailed us back, denying the rumor.

Jessica, the Chipotle customer service consultant, said the restaurant didn't have any immediate plans to open a new location in Muncie or at Ball State.

"We're always on the lookout for new spots to open the latest, greatest Chipotle so keep your fingers crossed and we may be in your backyard before you know it!," Jessica said.

The signs were put up for a class project.

Students who want to bring Chipotle to Muncie can submit a formal request to the chain.
