The Ball State soccer team hits the road this weekend to take on two tough Mid-American Conference opponents in Ohio and Kent State.

Ball State is looking for redemption from its latest match, a 3-0 home loss to MAC opponent Toledo on Oct. 5.

The Cardinals (6-3-2; 2-2 MAC) are at the midpoint of conference competition and currently sit in a three-way tie for second in the MAC West Division with Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan, chasing Northern Illinois for the top spot.

Ball State will look to rise to the challenge as the weekend's opponents are in third and fourth place in the MAC East Division. The Cardinals are 0-1 in MAC play on the road this season.

The first challenge will take Ball State to Ohio (5-7; 2-2 MAC) for a 4 p.m. game on Oct. 10. Overall, Ohio owns the all-time series against Ball State, but Ball State came out victorious in the last matchup, winning 2-1.

The weekend will continue at 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 when the Cardinals travel to battle the Golden Flashes of Kent State (7-3-2; 2-1-1 MAC). Kent State also has the better all-time record against Ball State. In their last matchup, Kent State won 1-0.

Wins this weekend could separate Ball State from their competition and restore some much-needed momentum.
