WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Ball State continues to roll in home tournament

Three set victory over Wright State continues 2-0 rebound since Northern Colorado Classic

Being at home against a lighter competition is just what Ball State was looking for.

Through two matches in the Ball State Tournament the Cardinals have pulled out two three set sweeps against Pittsburgh (25-17, 25-14, 25-16) and Wright State (25-15, 25-17, 25-16).

Ball State took control early in the first set on the strength of a .350 attack percentage. Ball State started the second set with a few attack errors before rattling off a 13-3 run at one point to take the set.

Coach Steve Shondell used the lead to get more playing time for his bench. Freshman setter Jenna Spadafora played some in the first two sets and played extensively in the third set. She was used mostly as an outside hitter and recorded four kills.

Ball State has now finished its last two matches with a .300 or better attack percentage after a .330 performance against Ball State.

Junior setter Jacqui Seidel recorded 41 assists and seven digs in the match.

Senior outside hitter Kara Bates led Ball State with 15 kills. Senior middle blocker Lisa Scott added 11 kills on a .364 attack percentage.
