MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals beat Panthers for second time

Second win over EIU gives Ball State second road win of season

Ball State completed the sweep of Eastern Illinois and improved to 4-3 on the season with a 58-51 victory Wednesday night.

Jarrod Jones led the Cardinals with 20 points. He also pulled down 13 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.

Sophomore Jauwan Scaife followed Jones with 16 points, while junior Randy Davis scored nine points and dished out seven assists.

One of the keys coming into the game for the Cardinals was to limit Tyler Laser, the Panthers' leading scorer on the season, and the Cardinals did just that.

Laser shot 1 for 13 from the field and was 0 for 4 from beyond the arc, scoring just four points.

In the Cardinals' first meeting against the Panthers, they pulled away in the second half, dismantling Eastern Illinois (3-6) by 31 points.

The second half proved productive for Ball State yet again, as they outscored Eastern Illinois 32-16.

Jeremy Granger led Eastern Illinois with 11 points.
