There were bound to be an abundance of learning curves for the Ball State men’s basketball team, with a first-year head coach coupled with a slew of freshmen. Sitting at 2-4 and a last second shot away from being 3-3, the Cardinals had a lot to point to as foundations for success.
Since 1944 the Ball State and Butler University men’s basketball programs have met at least once for an annual clash.
No freshman on Ball State’s roster has any plans of being a one-and-done to the NBA, but collectively, the youth has made an instant impact for the Cardinals. Outside of starting point guard Zavier Turner, nobody really knew what to expect from the new faces on Ball State’s roster.
This men’s basketball team will go as far as the seniors carry it, head coach James Whitford has said.
