Nine innings just didn't seem like enough baseball on opening weekend for the Ball State University baseball team. In their first two games of the season, the Cardinals played extra innings with Furman University, splitting the two games. Students have three slates to choose from in this year's Student Government Association election after University Coalition, formerly Cardinal Coalition, found replacements for an ineligible member and another and got approval from the Elections Board. Elections Board Sheriff Nicole Akey said William Garnes and Damon Clevenger, former treasurer and secretary candidates respectively, were replaced by sophomore elementary education major Derrick Stalbaum, running for treasurer, and junior public relations and French major Megan Veit, running for secretary.
Chelsea Backus is a believer in dancing for a cause. Backus began her journey to become the president of Ball State University Dance Marathon at Bishop Chatard High School. She began as a dancer, then became involved in the organizational process. "I got a call in the spring of 2007 saying they were revamping their program at Ball State," she said.
