For first time in his four-year college career, setter Ethan Pheister has won a national award. Pheister was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week on Monday.

Bracken Library is offering extended hours for students on Friday before Finals Week but will observe regular hours during the rest of the week.
Ball State put together a great day of baseball Saturday, sweeping the doubleheader and winning its fifth straight MAC series to open the year. The victories pulled the Cardinals (19-21, 11-4) back into a first place in the MAC West.

Senior Katherine Rist earned the only victory on the day in singles, defeating Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5. It was the fifth match in a row that Rist was the only player to score a point for Ball State.
The gloomy weather Saturday may have caused some people to stay inside, but the people who went to the Late Nite Carnival were able to use it to their advantage.
The Cardinals only trailed No. 33 Kent State University, which went on to win its 12th straight MAC title. Kent State is still the only program to have won a MAC Championship in women's golf. Ball State's 911 in the three-day event was one stroke better than third-place University of Toledo, while Eastern Michigan University finished in fourth with a 926.
Ball State University students with Colleges Against Cancer raised awareness with Relay for Life. One student walked in support of his fiancee, who was diagnosed with cancer in high school.
The Cardinals were able to balance their offense as four players ended with double digit kills. Outside attacker Eric Schulte led the Cardinals in kills with 12 while Nelson, J.D. Gasparovic and outside attacker Lee Meyer ended the match with 11 kills each.
Finals Week: the five days of the semester that students love and hate. Some love it because all they have are finals and no classes; others hate it because they have three or more finals that week and they're the hardest days of their lives.
