Across the two game series, Ball State had 26 hits
Ball State (26-4, 15-2) women’s basketball defeated Mid-American Conference (MAC) foe Kent State (18-8, 13-4) 75-71. The 26th win is a new program record for the Cardinals.
With the regular season conference champion still to be determined, Ball State (26-4, 15-2 MAC) locked up at least the number two seed in the conference tournament with a 75-71 road win against Kent State (18-9, 13-4 MAC).
Ball State (10-11) found success at the plate as the Cardinals collected 14 hits in back-to-back victories over East Tennessee State (4-12).
The Cardinals (15-15, 7-10 MAC), without leading scorer Basheer Jihad, won 76-69 against Kent State (15-15, 8-9 MAC) Ball State has its final game of the season Friday, March 8, when the Cardinals travel to Bowling Green, Ohio, to take on the Falcons (18-12, 9-8 MAC) at 7 p.m.
Junior Jacob Hartlaub pitched for 4.2 innings, allowing just four hits. This quieting of at-bats allowed for Ball State's offense to steadily gain and keep momentum throughout the game.
Growing up in Ontario and moving to Muncie to play at the collegiate level is an experience three Ball State golfers share, and it's a bond that goes beyond the sport they traveled across the border to play.

The Cardinals (14-15, 6-10 MAC) failed to secure eighth place in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) with a 78-76 overtime loss against Western Michigan (11-18, 8-8 MAC). Ball State returns to action Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. in the final home game of the season against Kent State.
Whenever a senior day comes around, head coach Brady Sallee always wants to celebrate the women’s basketball class with a curtain call, points and a win. Each Cardinal (25-4, 14-2 MAC) senior was able to do that on their day in the 75-47 win over Eastern Michigan (6-21, 2-14 MAC).
On the second miss, Becki grabbed the rebound and found Rauch who once again earned a trip to the line. After missing the first, she put the second free throw in to give her 1,000. Rauch would add two more later in the quarter to finish with 17 for the game.

“You always hope that experience brings poise and good decision-making,” Detweiler said. “We got a point guard [Jonny Manor] I trust to make good decisions, and if you have a guy you can trust with the ball in his hands that’s a big deal.”
Throughout the 2023-24 season, there has been storyline after storyline. Andrews broke the school's scoring record and is on pace for the Delaware County scoring record. Daleville senior Meryck Adams became the Broncos’ leader in 3-pointers made in a career.
Wes-Del and Wapahani will face each other in Friday's semifinal round after wins over Burris and Lapel.
